Valentine’s week 2023

In most Western countries, the beginning of the month of February marks the onset of spring after a harsh winter, ushering in celebrations all around. The bright sunshine and flowers blooming ignite romance in people’s hearts and excite lovers of all ages and gender. There is love in the air and all around. No wonder, the festival of love or Valentine’s Day is also celebrated in this month on the 14th of February.

But Valentine’s Day is not the only day in February that celebrates love and affection. Seven other significant days preceding it build up to the day of love. Those seven days, namely, Rose Day, Propose Day, Chocolate Day, Teddy Day, Promise Day, Kiss Day and Hug Day, constitute Valentine’s week. Each of these 7 days has a special significance.  Let us now talk about these 7 days in detail.

Propose Day - The day of romantic proposals is celebrated on the 8th of February every year when lovers formally confess their love to their crush with a gift, flower, etc. to make the day memorable forever.

Chocolate Day - Once the proposal is accepted, the next day, that is the 9th of February, consolidates the position with the gifting of chocolates. The sweetness of chocolates signifies pleasantness and the affability of the relationship and tells the one receiving it how sweet the other person finds him or her.

Teddy Day - Teddies represent cuddliness, softness and coziness. They remind us of our childhood days when hugging them made us feel secure and loved. The purpose of gifting teddies to loved ones on the 10th of February is to let them know that they would be loved, hugged and cared for whenever in need.

Promise Day: - Promises signify determination and the importance a thing or person holds in the life of another. A promise made by a lover to his sweetheart on the 11th of February or the Promise Day is to assure that he would stick to her through all her thick and thins come what may.

Hug Day: A hug is the most beautiful form of physical expression that reflects warmth, comfort and care. A warm hug speaks more than a thousand words without making any sound. Hug Day, celebrated on February 12, is a way of letting the significant other know through hugs how much he or she is loved or cared for.

Kiss Day: Kisses signify commitment and passion. A kiss takes the relationship to a new level of intimacy, responsibility and mutual trust. The 13th of February is the day when lovers pledge to be by the side of each other and take on each other’s responsibilities with a meaningful first kiss.
