Actor And Director Satish Kaushik passes away at 66

Satish Kaushik, renowned for roles such as Calendar in Mr India, passed away during the early hours of Thursday at the age of 66. Kaushik is said to have died of a heart attack while driving. Physicians attempted to resuscitate Kaushik, but he died on March 9.

His corpse was brought to Deendayal Hospital for the postmortem; it will be returned to the family at about 3 o'clock, after which his last rites will be performed. Anupam Kher, a friend and National Award-winning actor, tweeted to announce Kaushik's passing.

I am aware that death is the ultimate reality of this planet, Kher wrote beside a black-and-white photo of himself and Kaushik. Such an abrupt goodbye to a 45-year friendship! Life without Satish would never be same again! Om Shanti. Furthermore, he added that he had never imagined himself writing about his best buddy Satish Kaushik.

In addition to the mourning family and the spirit of the deceased, Kher wasn't the only person to offer his sympathies. Kangana Ranaut, a Bollywood star, too paid her tributes to the seasoned actor-director on Twitter.

Ranaut got to Twitter with, “Woke up to this horrible news, he was my biggest cheerleader, a very successful actor and director Satish Kaushik ji personally was also a very kind and genuine man. I loved directing him in Emergency. He will be missed, Om Shanti”

The actor from Jaane Bhi Do Yaaron was also honoured by Union Home Minister Amit Shah, who remarked that his contributions to Indian film, artistic works, and performances would always be remembered.

The Minister of Housing tweeted, "We are very grieved by the tragic death of Satish Kaushik, an actor, director, and writer. We shall always remember his contribution to Indian film, artistic works, and performances. My sincere sympathies go out to his grieving family and supporters. Om Shanti Om."
