Mollywood Comedy King Innocent Passes away at 75

A legendary Malayalam comedy actor named Innocent Vareed Thekkethala, who starred in more than 750 films and was chosen as an independent candidate for the Chalakkudy district in the 16th Lok Sabha elections, has passed away in Kochi, yesterday at the age of 75.

Also, for 18 years, he served as president of the Association of Malayalam Movie Artists (AMMA). His last film role was in the Prithviraj and 2022 flick "Kaduva," and his farewell film, "Paachuvum Albhuthavilakkum," is scheduled to hit theatres on April 28.

In addition to acting, Innocent wrote five novels based on his personal experiences. A prominent member of the film business, Innocent beat PC Chacko of the Congress in the 16th Lok Sabha elections but faced a loss in 2019.

It should go without saying that Innocent is a member of the exclusive group of performers who are unmatched; neither their predecessors' nor their successors' attempts to imitate their style were or would be successful.

Innocent's performance was flawless, with excellent synchrony between his language delivery, mannerisms, and movements. Supremely self-assured, unaffected by the camera's gaze. Innocent was unquestionably a ‘repeat value' performer.
