Alia Bhatt Ranbir tie the knot - look gorgeous on the wedding day
After keeping everyone guessing for months, two of the most drool-worthy Bollywood actors and heartthrobs of millions, Ranbir and Alia, finally got married in a very private ceremony in the month of April this year. Although the entire event was intended to be kept a hush-hush secret, the media got the information only at the last moment from insider leaks.
As per intimate sources close to the couple, the event was originally planned to be held in Ranbir’s ancestral house right behind the famous RK Studios, which was eventually changed and the couple ended up tying the knot in Ranbir’s lavish condo in the 12-storied Vastu, the ultra-expensive apartment building in the upscale neighbourhood of Pali Hill.
The building was literally turned into a fortress with top-class private security arrangements by Alia’s personal bodyguard Yousuf Ibrahim and his agency, 911 Protection Squad.

Mehndi, the traditional ritual before the wedding, was held on 13th April in the afternoon, and like the wedding, it was a very intimate affair too with only a few female dhol players and a dholki crew performing some of the popular Bollywood dance numbers in front of the family members and some very close associates of Ranbir and Alia.
The entire Mehndi and wedding dance choreography was managed and masterminded by Rajendra Singh, the Kapoor family’s favourite choreographer.
While Hill Road’s famed eatery, Elco, was given the contract of catering for the Mehndi, the wedding dinner was managed by several prominent caterers in the city.
The trimmed-down guest list for the wedding had a very limited number of invitees and, as per insider reports, was finalised at the very last moment. Surprisingly, the list didn’t even include the Bachchans and many other significant names in Bollywood. Even the cousins of Ranbir, Karishma, Kareena and Sonam were reportedly invited only a few days before the marriage over the phone.
The theme of the wedding was rustic with forest and nature-based inspirations, and both Ranbir and Alia’s wedding outfits perfectly matched the theme. Alia looked stunning in her ivory hand-dyed sari that had exquisite embroidery work. The fabulous choker necklace she wore was diamond studded with beautiful drop pearls.

The wedding rituals were followed by a cake-cutting ceremony, a western-style champagne toast and a late evening reception party at the same venue. The couple changed to glossy party outfits once the wedding rituals were over. The same-night reception was attended by Shahrukh and Gauri Khan, Karan Johar, Arjun Kapoor and many other Bollywood celebrities.
The matching safa he wore had diamonds, pearls and emeralds in them. His wedding look was well-complimented with a royal pearl necklace.
On the other hand, Ranbir looked heart-stopping in an ivory silk Sherwani that had diamond-studded buttons and a shawl with exclusive zari embroidery to add to its magnificence.
Instead of handing over the entire wedding management contract to celebrity event management giants like Shaadi Squad et al., the couple preferred their friends and private connections to handle different segments of the event.
As per reports, the couple received very expensive gifts from some of the invitees and family members like an Audi Q8 worth ₹1 crore from Brahmastra director and Ranbir’s confidante
Ayan Mukherji, precious diamond necklace sets from Kareena Kapoor and Priyanka Chopra and a premium Kawasaki Ninja Bike from Ranveer Singh. But Ranbir’s mother-in-law, Soni Razdan, topped the list with a watch worth ₹2.5 crores that she gifted to her dear son-in-law.
